We were amazed at how much we enjoyed Saguaro National Park! Getting out among the cacti was an incredible experience, as it allowed us to truly recognize the diversity of life that exists in the desert.
Although White Sands wasn’t quite yet a National Park on our visit, we’ll still count it! We had a great time meandering through the white sand dunes and soaking up the 360 degree sunset views.
This travel update includes a few special mentions: Sandhill Crane migration at Bosque Del Apache (beautiful), Valley of Fires Recreation Area, a note about margaritas in New Mexico, and a tip on some amazing fudge.
Although we had a number of great experiences in Santa Fe, one stood out against the rest: Meow Wolf! It is an amazing artistic experience we are thrilled we were able to experience (#2 in our Top Experiences thus far).
Bandelier National Monument and Canyon Road are other highlights included in this post.
A variety of adventure awaited us in Colorado Springs. Not only did we get to experience Garden of the Gods and Pike’s Peak, but we weathered our first snow storm!
We encountered a special critter on our journey…a rattle snake! Pictures of the snake and Castlewood Canyon State Park are included in this post.
The majestic Rocky Mountains! Our time in the Rockies was filled with fun, family time, and soaking in the glory of the Elk Rutt (our second favorite experience on the road…thus far!).
South Dakota was more beautiful than either of us expected. We enjoyed our visit so much, we stayed an extra week!
