Cincinnati, OH: June 23 - 28, 2020

We made a short trip to Cincinnati, OH to visit one of our close friends and catch up on life. Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of pictures from this leg of the trip, but we had a great time! Our friend was a great host, inviting us into her home and taking us to some nice local restaurants. Our stay at Winton Woods Campground was great, once we got past the storm that greeted us and moved to a more level site.

Sadly, this is the only picture we took in the park. The bike trail was nice!

A much needed drink at Mi Cozumel after our rough setup in the storm. This was a lively Mexican restaurant.

Corydon, IN: June 28 - July 7, 2020

On our journey from Cincinnati, OH to St. Louis, MO we decided to stay at O’Bannon Woods State Park (known locally as “The Forestry”). We had no idea how much fun we would have in the small town of Corydon, IN. Due to poor internet connectivity in the state park, we had to commute into town each day for work. This enticed us to more fully explore the town and get to know a number of locals. We even got to participate in some 4th of July celebrations around town! We were sad when it was time to leave, as we had come to feel as though we were a part of the community and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful landscapes.

The “Constitutional Elm” was on grand display for the 4th of July. Corydon was founded in 1808 and was the original capital of Indiana. It is said that the state constitution was drafted under the shade of this elm tree in 1816.

One quick note…for those that sometimes have issues with wine, these wines will NOT give you a headache (well…they did not give us a headache). Turtle Run does not add tannins, liquid oak extracts, flavor enhancers, etc. A link to the winery website, including additional information about their process, is linked in the Pit Stops & Encounters section at the bottom of the page. You can also purchase wine through their website!

Louisville, KY

During our stay in Corydon, we decided to spend some time in and around Louisville. Most notably, we visited the Forest Giants in the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest. The artistry Thomas Dambo employed in bringing these whimsical sculptures to life is incredible! We loved examining the detail of each giant. Much care and thought was put into crafting the story and environment for each one. This is a must see stop if you are in the area.
