Nerdy and
Fun Loving

It all started when…

We met in college. Truly, from day one, we knew we had a shared passion for adventure. I wanted to travel the globe; Scott wanted to own a sailboat company in Florida. A city boy and a country girl with two very different approaches to life, but with a common desire to see and achieve more (while having a lot of fun along the way).

We love meeting new people and learning about different places and cultures, which has lead us to some amazing places and unique experiences. We also really enjoy getting out into nature, and are especially excited about viewing unique nature events (e.g., synchronous fireflies in the Smoky Mountains…beautiful!). We feel extremely fortunate to have enjoyed the travels we have taken thus far.

We have spent many years talking about how much fun we will have in retirement when we can purchase an RV and roll out to explore the beauty of the United States (or more broadly, North America). Living full or part time in an RV / motorhome has traditionally been dominated by retirees or entrepreneurs (at least in terms of our general perception). However, an increased desire across the globe for more flexible and mobile work opportunities continues to be a driver in great technology advancements, making this lifestyle more easily accessible for those not yet ready to retire.

Over the last few years, we have come to appreciate how complex and short life can be. We’ve witnessed people struggle with coming to terms on giving up their dreams, due to battles with an injury or illness (of a loved one or themself). The advice coming out of those times seems to always be the same…we can’t avoid the unexpected or sad things in life; all we can do is make the most of the time we have now.

So…we decided to dive in and live our dream! Without prior ownership of a recreational vehicle, and only a total of three nights sleeping in one, we made the wild move to buy an RV and move into it! As of this posting, we are working remotely full time, making us “digital nomads” (while we’re not in love with the term, it is pretty fitting for two techy nerds). :-)

My what a crazy adventure this will be! There will be highs and there will be lows. The goal is to share as much as is reasonably possible: adventures and misadventures, pros and cons of RV living, and learnings about new people / places. We are also going to try our best to help people throughout our journey, both those who follow us on our site and those who we encounter on the road!

We hope you enjoy following along and witnessing our antics!
