RV Living in Pigeon Forge
Pigeon Forge Nature Friends
The KOA Holiday in Pigeon Forge, TN was our home for four weeks. After a couple of weeks, we truly started to feel like residents, learning how to navigate the tourist traffic and frequenting some local establishments. The campground was sizable and, while it turned into a RV city on the weekends, it felt quite quaint during the week. Since we had an extended stay, we were lucky enough to secure a spot near the end of the campground down by the river. Each day we were treated to encounters with various critters, most notably the geese, squirrels, and woodchucks (also known as groundhogs). The woodchucks were our favorite… what characters!
Dirty, Dirty RV!
Having a home base for more than a couple of weeks gave us an opportunity to take care of some activities we had postponed in our rush to start this crazy adventure. Our RV was in desperate need of a bath, and most of the campgrounds restrict you from using their water to wash your RV. Why? Well, you are dumping gallons of their water all over your RV. Not a great economical win for the RV park, nor a great experience for your neighbors that are just downhill or downwind from your rig.
While understandable, the inability to wash your RV when parked at a site is a considerable dilemma for full-time RV living! We were forced to resort to more desperate measures, scanning the area for some type of nomadic RV washing service. Aaaaand, this is what showed up on our doorstep the next morning…
Livin’ it up in the city!
Certainly this highbrow duo is too sophisticated for the kitschy, over-commercialized Pigeon Forge night life, right? Nope! Not so much! We tossed away our aged hipster attitudes for a weekend and dove right in to the fray!
Relaxation at the Rig
While living in Pigeon Forge, we enjoyed working from the patio some afternoons and relaxing by a campfire in the evenings. When we were not out hiking in the mountains, we would take our bicycles out to explore our campground and the surrounding area. When not doing that, we reverted to what we do best… being nerds.
